Who wants to be a web page designer?

This discussion is about the Redesign Challenge for the "Student's Corner" page. Feel free to post questions, answers to questions, comments and replies to comments about this redesign challenge.Premise: This site is a wiki, which means that it should constantly change. You improve this site better by editing and adding contributions. Some of you will develop strong editing and page design skills. I would love for the skilled and courageous to partake in this endeavor. Details: For those of you who are interested, you will use your profile page to experiment with your design ideas. Once the contest is finished, I will evaluate the design and compare it to the rest of the entries. After allowing site members to vote on the best design, I will select one winner. The winning design will be used on the site. The winner will be spotlighted on the home page and will earn substantial extra credit. All "competitive" contestants will some extra credit but not as much as the winner. Date of contest: Will be decided later; most likely in Spring 2010. Do you find this valuable?

Ilan and Amanda, you are now enrolled in the challenge. You can change your profile page as a submission. If you want to use html, let me know because wetpaint can not support html. I have a way of getting around that. Also, if you need the embed codes for the items already on the student's corner, let me know.

I would like to join this contest and make the front page really pop out. It sounds fun but challenging... I don't really understand how we would would experiment with our design ideas on our profile page... what exactly would we make.... anything?

i think that the students corner is fine how it is.it might be good to redesign it but i find the page now to be easy to navigate around the site. if you change it, hopefully it will either make it easier to navigate and cooler at the same time Do you find this valuable? |
